Hawaii to me screams adventure. Hiking, Snorkeling, Cliff Jumping, Exploring, Waterfalls, Sunrises and Sunsets - this place has it all. This was my second trip to Honolulu - the first was in 2005. Outside of the wicked sunburn that I always seem to get (no matter the amount of sunscreen I apply) I love this place. The scenery is incredible, the hiking is first class, the food is great, and the beaches the most magical shades of blue and green - what is not to love? This trip was 8 days, just me and my 12 year old niece - the plan, pack as much fun and adventure into those 8 days as humanly possible. We stayed on Waikiki Beach - sun, swimming and sunsets were a must everyday. I hired a local adventure guide to take us on an adventure day that included paddle boarding, the spitting cave, snorkeling, cliff jumping and hiking through a bamboo forest to a secluded waterfall. The rest of the week included hiking to the top of Diamond Head, taking a submarine 110 feet to the bottom of the ocean, snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, Pearl Harbor and a Luau. We came home exhausted, sunburned, full of memories and the need to go back and see more... the mark of a good vacation!
